Shakespeare at Maine Art Gallery in Kennebunk

Come and join Maine Art and MaineStage Shakespeare on Tuesday, August 8th. The actors and actresses, in full costume, will wander among Lyman Whitaker’s Wind Sculptures at 14 Western Ave. in Kennebunk from 7:30 to sunset. They will share excerpts from their present production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

MaineStage Shakespeare is a nonprofit theater company founded in 2011. They are comprised of young, passionate theater artists from around the country who share the goal of fostering an influential resident Shakespeare company right here in Kennebunk.

MaineStage still has a few shows before they finish out their season.  Thursdays and Saturdays, they can be found in Lafayette Park in Kennebunk and Wednesday evenings they are at the Colony Hotel in Kennebunkport. On Fridays, they normally take their show on the road, so check their website for the entire show calendar. Click here for their calendar.

The theater group also offers a camp, Shake Stars, for those interested in learning more about the craft. Next week will be their last week of classes, but there is still room if you are interested. Click here for more info.

A huge thank you to Chiara Klein, Managing Artistic Director and Director of both plays this summer. We could not have made this happen without her willingness to “think outside the stage” and join us in the sculpture garden.

We hope to see you on Tuesday, as Shakespeare wanders through the Wind Sculptures.
