Anne Burnett Hidell is a graduate of Emmanuel College in Boston and she studied at Loyola Rome Center in Italy. After working as a graphic designer for CNN until 1983, she moved to Maine and started her own business designing painted furniture, clothing, and other textiles. In 1990 she continued classical study at the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts. When she discovered the challenge and excitement of painting landscape on location, "en plein air" became her focus. The authentic light and energy , and the experience of being immersed in nature, became invaluable. Her paintings "speak" from her observation in nature. The landscape of Maine, North Carolina, and the Bahama Islands are her primary points of interest. Anne's work is in private and corporate collections in the U.S. As well as England, Canada and the Bahamas.
