Erika Manning is a multi - media visual artist who lives on the beautiful rocky coast of Maine. Her paintings evoke the feeling of the Maine landscape with the colors of pine forests, lobster buoys, marsh land, and fog, as well as reflections on the water, the shapes of rock, islands, topographical maps and boats.
She pursues the idea of “beginner mind” in all her work and believes that the process of making art is just as important as the finished piece. In the work, it is often the visual history of the passage of time, of the marks made and then erased, the layering of color and the shapes drawn that most engages and intrigues.
Erika holds a BFA from the Art Institute of Boston.
