Joseph Webster is a young emerging artist specializing in Venetian style glass techniques. Joseph is a Maine native, who first discovered glass at Haystack Mountain School of Craft while still in high school. He graduated from Deering High School in Portland in 2010 and went on to receive his BFA with a concentration in Glass from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2015. In addition to his formal education, Joseph has studied under several renowned artists, including James Mongrain and Jeff Mack. Joseph sources his inspiration from traditional Venetian style techniques as well as contemporary artists who specialize in these techniques.
After his time spent studying the material he worked as a production stemware artisan for a glass fabrication company, and as the lead gaffer at Mass Art. He now has opened his own studio and gallery in the Pepperell Mill Campus in Biddeford, Maine where he creates his work daily.
