July 29 to August 4
Sandra Kavanaugh is an artist working in oils and pastels. Landscapes and Seascapes are a favorite theme, and she enjoys capturing the beauty of New England from mountains to coast. She graduated from Massachusetts College of Art with a BFA in Fine Art. Over the years, she has enjoyed many art endeavors, including a pottery studio at Lowell’s Brush with History and teaching art at Salem NH High School.
Sandra loves geometry, and the underlying structure of things combines the classical with the contemporary as she applies the golden section to her compositions. She tries to strike a balance between visual realism and expressive mark-making. Sandra is a juried member of the Copley Society, The North Shore Art Association, and New Hampshire Art Association.
She is a signature member of the American Society of Marine Painters and the Pastel Society of NH and is a juried associate member of the Pastel Society of America. She has lived in Pelham for 25 years and currently lives with her husband Lee and son Drew on Little Island Pond
