Next year’s show schedule is set, and we couldn’t wait to share the excitement with all of you. We know how quickly summer calendars fill up, so be sure to pencil us in.
In 2018, we are thrilled to start the season with our 3rd Annual Spring Show featuring artist Holly Ready. Ready is taking over the first floor of The Gallery on Maine Art Hill from May 26 through June 16. Holly lives and paints in Cape Elizabeth surrounded by views that inspire the amazing sunsets for which she is most known. Her color and light are perfect to kick off a fabulous summer of art in the Kennebunks.
On June 9, Shows on Maine Art Hill opens for the summer with the 7th Annual Choice Art Show, the only show curated by you. This is our seventh year combining this show with the Kennebunkport Festival. Fourteen Artists. Forty-two works. We always love seeing your choices. Be on the lookout for more information on which artists are participating, how the show works, and how to vote for your favorites beginning in May.
Beginning June 30, Bethany Harper Williams and David Witbeck are paired at Shows on Maine Art Hill as an amazing duo. Their show will run for three weeks, closing on July 19. Many have discovered and fallen in love with both artists over the past few years. We truly enjoy filling Shows on Maine Art Hill with this work. We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of this show.
On July 21, our show gallery at 10 Chase Hill will magically transform into three galleries. Well, kind of. Last year we received wonderful feedback from our customers and collectors about how much they loved having three artists all sharing one space for the Frey, Granter, and Gerding show. This was a show where each of the three rooms became a gallery in itself. Our only job was to match three unique and varied artists to form a fabulous trio of works. With such success and positive feedback, we decided to do it again, and again, and again.
The first of the three trio shows features Susan Wahlrab, Rebecca Kinkead, and Jeffrey Fitzgerald. This show begins on July 21 and runs through August 9. The second will open on August 11 with Liz Hoag, Janis Sanders, and Trip Park. This show runs until Thursday, August 30. Normally this is our last week of the summer at this gallery, but with our past September feeling very much like summer, we said, “What the heck! Let’s do one more.”
The extended season show will run from September 1 until September 20, and that isn’t even the most exciting part. This last three-artist show features three of Maine Art’s newest artists, John LeCours, Claire Bigbee, and Ingunn Milla Joergensen.
Last, but certainly not least, our season wraps up back at The Gallery with our beloved and wonderfully talented William B. Hoyt. His solo show will fill the first floor at 14 Western Ave starting September 22.
So with all of that said, please keep us in mind while deciding on which weeks to visit us here in Kennebunk. Of course, we would love to have you with us all summer, but we know for some of you that’s not possible. We do our best to keep you up to date on all the goings-on, but there are a few things you can do to make sure you stay connected. Please add your name to our email list for reminders if you don’t get them already. We keep your information private and will not inundate your inbox. Also, follow us on social media Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest and of course keep an eye on our Calendar on our website.
The Gallery at 14 Western Ave is open all year round. Stop by and say hello… especially for Prelude.
